Short Bio

Professor Boaz Golany joined the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion in 1986. He received his PhD from the School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin in 1985.

His publications are in the areas of Industrial Engineering, Operations Research and Management Science. His primary research contributions are in the area of efficiency and productivity studies. Another line of research by Prof. Golany involves various topics of production and inventory management, developing algorithms for the dynamic lot size problem and multi-item inventory replenishment models. Other research areas in which prof. Golany has been involved are multi-criteria decision making, Project management and data analysis in general and marketing research applications in particular.

Prof. Golany has served as a consultant to numerous companies and agencies in Israel and the USA. These include government agencies, military, energy companies, and companies in the financial sector, manufacturing, services, and information technology.

Prof. Golany currently serves as Technion Executive Vice President & Director General. He also served as the Technion Vice President for External Relations & Resource Development 2012-2019 and was the Dean of The William Davidson Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management during 2006–2011.
