Short Bio

Prof. Doron Melamed is a principal investigator at the Department of Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He received his B.Sc. in Animal Sciences, M.Sc. in pathology, and PhD in Immunology, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. Following successful completion of his Ph.D. studies, Prof. Melamed joined the National Jewish Medical and Research Center at Denver Colorado. Prof. Melamed joined the Technion on November 1998, promoted to Associate Prof. on 2005 and to a full Prof. on 2012. His research interests along the years focus on development, selection, differentiation and pathologies of B lymphocytes. Recent studies explore mechanisms of immune homeostasis in aging and mechanisms for rejuvenation.
