The Technology

Low migration, low odor UV curable polymer compositions designed to passively self-sterilize in an accelerated process, without any need for human intervention
The polymers are amenable to coating, 2D- as well as 3D-printing
Irreversible immobilization onto the surface and accelerated deactivation through alternative mechanisms

Advantages

  • Disposable coatings and products having innate biocidal & viricidal abilities
  • Known oligodynamic effect, known for over 2500 years – metal ions, such as copper, silver and zinc for killing a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including bacteria, protozoa, fungi and viruses, while being relatively benign to humans
  • Fast and broad-spectrum activity, as well as accelerated destruction of phospholipid coating layers

Applications and Opportunities

  • Paint/varnish to provide viricidal properties to existing surfaces from fabrics to plastic covers, handles and packaging
  • Hospital gowns and curtains, surfaces for food preparation, public transportation
