Luai R. Khoury is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and head of the Protein Materials and Mechanics Lab (PMML). His research focuses on the design of protein-based functional materials that harness protein folding, mechanics, and enzymatic activity to create autonomous, bioresponsive, and programmable systems. By integrating materials science, protein biophysics, and advanced fabrication, his group develops smart hydrogels and protein-polymer hybrids for biomedical and environmental applications.
