The Technology

Surface electrical properties needs to be analyzed for various applications such as design of batteries and membranes. Ionic properties of fluids are analyzed for applications such as water quality measurements, QA and QC for food and pharma industries erc. There are several methods to examine the structure and properties of electrical double layers (EDL) of ions, such as impedance spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and others. Other methods are used to analyze the Zeta potential. The current methods for such measurements are complicated, require long set-up times and desktop equipment. A new device for analyzing ionic content and concentration of fluids and electrical properties of surfaces was shown to be as accurate as current techniques at much smaller size and cost. The new device is very easy to use and doesn’t require trained personnel.
